What is real love?

As Valentines Day approaches, some people greet it with joyful expectation to give a card or a gift to a loved one – boyfriend/girlfriend, partner, or husband/wife. Some are also really excited at the thought of sending an anonymous greeting to someone they have admired from afar. This year being a leap year, gives the ladies an opportunity to propose to the admired love or partner.

Back in 2016, I wrote my first book a romance novella about the usual scenario – boy meets girl, falls for girl etc However, my novella had a different element to it. It was based around a church Alpha Course.

Craig Wilson, a local journalist, was tasked with the job of reporting on a local Alpha Course for the paper. A bit of a Lothario and ladies man, he is instantly drawn to the pretty, blonde young Amy Castleton. She is single because she has been unable to find a Christian man who she is attracted to, highlighting a common problem in the church – more women than men. She is attacted to Craig too but cannot consider someone like him. The plot is set up for the usual conflict in love but with the added spiritual ingredient. The story is built around the Alpha Course programme, week by week, and so the reader is taken on a journey explaining who Jesus is and what it means to be a Christian.

Visit my website for more details of how to get a copy of my book in paperback or kindle. You can even download the first chapter as a free taster.

Even if you are alone this Valentines Day, mourning the loss of a loved one either through death or divorce, or simply alone because you’ve never met the right person, or if you did they didn’t want you. Are your past memories tinged with sadness or regret? The path of love often doesn’t always run smoothly. Alpha Male is not only a romance, it is pointing the way to a greater love, the love of Jesus who loved us enough to die for us. No one needs to be totally alone this Valentines Day. The love of God is steadfast and everylasting, it won’t let you down and unlike any other love, it transcends the grave too.
