This is a historical romance set in nineteenth century New Zealand. It follows Eliza from her home in Scotland out to Wellington, New Zealand as one of the first pioneers of that country. She and her husband Alister set up a dairy farm in the new country. It’s a story of love and tragedy, hope and despair, but most of all it’s a tale of survival.
