Having a few days booked in London in mid-January was a real treat for us after a non-existent Christmas due to the flu. A kind of ‘mini Christmas’ after the fact.

I have wanted to go and see the Abba Voyage experience for such a long time and at last my wish was granted and with such excellent seats too, just off the dance floor! But don’t worry, my image gives nothing away. The picture only shows a Scandinavian snowy scene which was our entertainment while we waited for the show to begin. No photos or videos are allowed during the performance, which was magical. So hard to believe that the figures that were entertaining us where simply holograms of their younger selves. Incredible; as was the lighting!

The next day, as our Elvis Immersive experience wasn’t until later in the afternoon, being near Westminster Abbey, we decided to pay it a visit. Very interesting, loved Writers/Poets Corner especially

and the extra exhibition of royals and their paraphernalia which was created after Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.
Then it was on to the Excel for the Elvis Immersive Experience.

The Blue Hawaii Bar was a halfway stop for drinks and down time after a train journey through Elvis’ life. A time to experience his Hollywood film days after his army enrolment, also a time to sell us drinks and snacks, or in my case, admire Elvis.
Finally, on our last day in London it was time for family – our son, his wife and our grandsons and my cousin, wife and daughter. A lovely family time. Great break away.
