Stroud is an interesting place and a little ‘other’ in the nicest possible way. People aren’t afraid to be themselves and be a little different. This last weekend with both bouts of rain and sunshine, everyone was delighted to see an amazing rainbow over the Stroud Farmer’s market.

A lady came out from behind her fruit and vegetable stand pointing to it and shouting out with glee. How delightful!
Stroud, was also the venue last weekend, of a most amazing book festival at the local Baptist church, entitled Book Blest. And it was a blessing, not only to connect with other amazing writers but have an opportunity to present our own books either by a question and answer session with the lovely minister, Jo Regan –

or to do your own presentation. I did both.

I talked about Jember’s book – ‘Bible Reflections from a life devoted to the poor’ – with a series of slides showing the projects Jember helped to raise out of poverty, and read out selections from her wonderful devotions, challenging stuff.
It was a great opportunity to showcase not only Jember’s book but also my own two – Alpha Male and Waireka: Sweet Waters and to buy a few inspiring presents for Christmas both for myself and others. Thanks go to the lovely Jo Regan and to Brendan Conboy for making this such a great experience to take part in.
All my books, including Jember’s can be found by going to my website www.journojohnson.com under ‘shop’ and following the details.
Well done Sheila. It would have been nice to hear your interview. Let’s hope many more people will recognise the value of Sister Jember’s Bible reflections and be blessed!

Thanks, Arthur. I’m afraid it wasn’t recorded. I was asked about my general career in writing first + my other two books by Rev Jo Regan (Nigel Scotland was her tutor for the MA!) and then I did a presentation about the book using slides of the project. I also read from a couple of Jember’s devotionals. By the way, Jo loves the book and intends to use it as her devotional, which is great.
